The MyID4Life program consists of Kidz Kardz Photo ID Cards and DNA archival kits. Currently under development are programs to maintain your child's vital statistics and information; permanent online storage and maintenance of your child's information; quarterly MyID4Life newsletters, and much more.

Kidz Kardz Child ID Cards:

  · The Kidz Kardz program is an integral part of the foundation's MyID4Life project, where children aged 17 and under receive FREE identification products to help keep them safe. Kidz Kardz are hard plastic id cards containing a full color photo of the child, along with vital statistics and a detailed description. The same size as a credit card, Kidz Kardz are carried by the parents or other caregiver. If a situation arises wherein the child is lost or missing the card can be given to the authorities. It contains all of the basic information they need to immediately begin looking for the child.

When a child is lost or missing a ticking clock is your enemy. Instead of wasting precious time trying to guess the child's height and weight or find a recent photo, parents now have all of the required information immediately available. Many parents would have a very hard time giving an accurate height, weight, hair and eye color for their child under normal circumstances. When placed in the stressful situation of having their child lost or missing, the chances of providing accurate information off the top of their head decreases dramatically. The free MyID4Life Kidz Kardz eliminate the guesswork and gives parents another tool to help keep their children safe!

Digital Fingerprinting & Photos:

  · Free Digital Fingerprints and photographs were a mainstay of the original MyID4Life program. Any child who is 17 years old or less could get their photos and fingerprints put on a disk that the family can take home. Technology is improving how information is distributed and it greatly speeds up the awareness process by allowing for flyers and information to be generated and sent electronically vs. looking for current photos and ink/paper fingerprints. The fingerprint disk allowed you to quickly distribute the information and to update the information as well. The disk also allows you to copy the information to other disks to be distributed to other family members and lawn enforcement in the event of an emergency. The disk is also smaller than paper photos and fingerprinting cards for easier storage.

Recent developments in technology have made higher resolution digital fingerprint systems more available and affordable, but have required us to change the storage medium from diskettes to CDs or USB Flash Storage media. Diskettes simply can't handle the storage requirements of the higher resolution fingerprints and photos. We are currently developing new software that utilizes the same state-of-the-art fingerprint capture devices being used by the Department of Homeland Security, and hope to be able to once again provide this service in the near future.

DNA Archival Kits:

·The genetic composition of each person is unique, making DNA the ultimate form of human identification. The MyID4Life DNA Archival Kit uses state-of-the-art technology to store DNA at room temperature. DNA is obtained by rubbing a swab on the inside of the mouth to collect cheek (buccal) cells. The swab is blotted on a special paper that is treated with chemicals to sterilize and stabilize the DNA. We use the same products and procedures as used by Federal Law Enforcement agencies and the United States Military. The DNA sample is placed in a forensic quality foil-lined envelope for storage, and will last an average of 10 years. The kit comes with complete instructions for use, and all of the materials you need to quickly and easily obtain a dependable DNA sample in the comfort of your home!

DNA Archival Kits are available with a $5.00 donation at any of our MyID4Life child identification sessions. Your donation for these kits help us fund expansion of the MyID4Life program, and increases the number of children that we can reach with our services.
